Arizona Weather: Relief After Storms

After a very wet weekend, Arizona is finally getting some relief from the effects of Hurricane Priscilla. the storm brought several inches of rain to much of the state, but forecasters expect the weather to dry out and cool down.

From Phoenix to Flagstaff, scattered thunderstorms on October 13 will end a period of heavy rain in Arizona. The East Valley, especially Mesa and Gilbert, was hit the hardest, with some areas receiving almost 4 inches of rain.

In Northern Arizona, the Flagstaff pulliam Airport weather station recorded over 3 inches of rain over three days.

“By later tonight, it will dry out,” said Gabriel Lojero, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in phoenix. “But between late morning and this afternoon, we expect some scattered thunderstorms to move across the Phoenix area.”

The Phoenix area received heavy rainfall starting on October 9,with most places getting between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain.
