Red Wolves Snap Troy’s Winning Streak

TROY, Ala. – Arkansas State jumped to a 17-point lead in teh first quarter and secured a 23-10 victory at Troy on Saturday evening at Veterans Memorial Stadium, ending the Trojans’ five-game winning streak.

The Red Wolves (5-4, 4-1 SBC) gained 177 yards in the opening quarter and only 120 yards in the remaining three quarters. However, the strong start proved sufficient for Arkansas State to claim its fourth consecutive win.

Jaylen Raynor completed 21 of 29 passes for 247 yards and two touchdown passes. He was limited to just five yards on 10 rushing attempts. He guided the Red Wolves to scoring drives on their first three possessions before the Troy defense restricted him and the A-State offense to just two field goals for the rest of the game.

Troy (6-3,4-1) struggled offensively,finishing with only 187 yards and allowing nine sacks – the most in the program’s Division I history. Tucker Kilcrease completed 19 of 34 passes for 166 yards, while Tae Meadows rushed for 48 yards on 14 carries.
