Armie Hammer Returns to Acting: Western Film Marks Comeback

Armie Hammer is officially back in the acting saddle. More than three years after allegations of sexual misconduct derailed his career, the actor has landed his first film role since 2022’s Death on the Nile. Hammer will star in Frontier Crucible, a western adaptation of Harry Whittington’s 1961 novel Desert Stake-Out.

Production for the 1870s-set film, directed by Travis Mills, is slated to begin in November. Joining Hammer in the cast are notable actors Thomas Jane, Myles Clohessy, Eli Brown, and Eddie Spears. Bonfire Legend, the production company behind the project, confirmed the news on Instagram.

Hammer himself teased his return to acting on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself holding the film script while sporting a cowboy hat. His caption simply read, “Back in the saddle.”

Hammer’s career faced significant challenges in 2021 amidst accusations of sexual abuse and misconduct, which he consistently denied. Last year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office decided not to pursue charges against him.

Beyond Frontier Crucible, Hammer recently announced the launch of his podcast, Armie HammerTime. Described as a chronicle of his journey to rebuild his life, the podcast features comedian and actor Tom Arnold as its first guest.

The actor shares two children with his former partner, TV personality Elizabeth Chambers. He is also known for his roles in films like Call Me by Your Name, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., and The Social Network.
