Police Arrest Suspect Following Hit-and-Run Collision in Antrim, Northern Ireland

Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run collision that left a woman with potentially life-changing injuries. The incident occurred yesterday evening on the Glenravel Road in Martinstown, Co Antrim.

According to police, a woman in her 30s was struck by a vehicle while walking along the road. Members of the public discovered a white van nearby, believed to be involved in the collision, but it fled the scene before police arrived.

The injured woman was transported to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment for injuries described as potentially life-changing.

Following the arrest, the 25-year-old suspect has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. “Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, and police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1715 26/10/24,” they said.
