Astro Bot DualSense Controller Returns in “Joyful Limited Edition”

Sony is following up on last year’s success: the Playstation group is releasing another Astro Bot dualsense controller.
the 2024 and 2025 series of Astro-themed Dualsense controllers initially caused some confusion. With its matte-white coloring and metallic blue side panels, Sony’s designers clearly drew inspiration from the popular Astro Bot.
The limited edition released in September of last year quickly sold out, thanks in part to its relatively affordable list price of €79.99. Original, packaged devices are still being offered for double the price on online marketplaces.
But it’s about to get easier – and possibly cheaper: The controller will be re-released on October 12th, with a subtle difference. The ‘eyes’ of the PS5 mascot on the touchpad, which were wide open in the first release, now appear slightly narrowed as if smiling. This explains the addition of “Joyful Limited Edition” to the name.
Pre-orders for the ‘new’ Astro Bot PS5 controller begin September 12th at 10 a.m. via PlayStation Direct and participating retailers.The technically unchanged model is expected to be priced around €80.
