Marist School Marching Band Aims for the Stars
ATLANTA-Thirty-one years ago,the Marist School Marching Band was founded. Today, it’s a nationally competitive program. The band’s director, Alan Davenport, said the band’s success comes from the students’ dedication and the support of the Marist community.
“We have a very talented group of students who are committed to excellence,” said Davenport. “They work incredibly hard, and they’re always willing to go the extra mile.”
A Season of Competition
The Marist School Marching Band competes in the Georgia Bandmasters Association and Bands of America circuits.This year, the band’s show is themed around the solar system.The performance features music and visuals that represent the planets and stars.
“We wanted to create a show that was both entertaining and educational,” said Davenport. “We hope that our audience will learn something about the solar system while enjoying our performance.”
