AZKi’s “Departure” Marks a New Chapter for the Hololive Virtual Idol

AZKi, a prominent member of hololive Generation 0, recently concluded her solo live performance, “Departure,” on November 19, 2025, at the Pia Arena MM. The concert signified a pivotal moment in her musical journey, following her return to hololive production after periods with INoNaKa Music and Victor Entertainment. The performance showcased both a reflection on her past and a bold step towards future creative endeavors.

Reflecting on Her Musical Roots

AZKi incorporated a six-song medley into the beginning of “Departure” as a tribute to her early operate. While she expressed a desire to perform each song in full, time constraints led to the medley format. Despite the challenge, she aimed to infuse the medley with deep emotion, acknowledging the significance of those initial songs in her career.

Collaboration with Hoshimachi Suisei and the Birth of AS_tar

A key highlight of the concert was the debut of “Going My Way,” a new original song performed as part of the unit “AS_tar,” featuring Hoshimachi Suisei. This collaboration holds particular weight, given both AZKi and Suisei’s shared history within the INoNaKa family. AZKi expressed her excitement about creating new music with Suisei, viewing AS_tar as a forward-looking project. Watch a short clip of “Going My Way” here.

“Farewell”: A Song Written for the Moment

The concert also featured “Farewell,” a song specifically composed for the “Departure” live performance. AZKi intentionally chose to convey her message through music rather than spoken words, leading to a tight production schedule to ensure the song’s completion in time for the show.

AZKi’s Evolving Career

AZKi’s journey has involved transitions between different production companies, including INoNaKa Music, Victor Entertainment and hololive production. She released the EPs “Re:Start” and “Re:Birth” in November 2025, setting the stage for her solo live. COVERedge provides further insight into her creative process and career path.

Past Performance and Fan Engagement

Prior to “Departure,” AZKi had already established a strong presence with fans, including a performance of “Move MY WAY!!” / THE IDOLM@STER in April 2021. View the 2021 performance on YouTube. Her continued engagement with her fanbase remains a central aspect of her work.

As of March 2026, COVER has managed over 1000 songs, reflecting the growing number of talents releasing albums and holding solo live performances within the hololive ecosystem.
