Beaver Dam Woman and Granddaughter to Plead in Animal Mistreatment Case
Beaver Dam, WI – Glenann Yahnke, 66, and her granddaughter, Brianna Yahnke, 19, are scheduled to enter pleas and be sentenced in a case involving the mistreatment of dozens of animals found in unsafe and unsanitary conditions. The pair were originally set to face a jury trial this week, but court records indicate a change in proceedings.
Details of the Case
Brianna Yahnke’s plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 30, while Glenann Yahnke’s is set for April 10. Both women face misdemeanor charges for intentionally mistreating animals and failing to provide adequate shelter and sanitation, according to prosecutors as reported by the Daily Dodge.
Discovery of the Neglect
In October, authorities removed 34 animals – both living and deceased – from a residence on West Mackie Street after a social worker raised concerns about the conditions inside the Daily Dodge reports. Investigators found dogs, cats, and other animals living amidst feces and urine, lacking sufficient food and necessary medical care.
Animals Recovered and Found Deceased
The Dodge County Humane Society assisted in the rescue operation. They took in 14 dogs, six cats, and three rabbits for care. Unfortunately, several animals were found dead at the scene, including four birds, two kittens, two dogs, two rabbits, and a turtle according to the Daily Dodge.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
The case is currently proceeding through the Dodge County court system. A notice of sheriff’s sale related to a foreclosure case involving Glenann Yahnke is scheduled for April 22, 2026, at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office as detailed in a court document. Glenann Yahnke is listed as residing at 204 W Mackie St in Beaver Dam, WI according to public records.
