Ronan Curran to Join Ben O’Connor‘s Cork Senior Hurling Management Team

During his playing days, Ben O’Connor valued the advice of Ronan Curran in the dressing room, so it’s no surprise Curran’s been a valued advisor in O’Connor’s coaching career.

When O’Connor was Cork U20 hurling manager in 2023 and 2024, Curran was one of his selectors. Players were impressed with the former center-back’s feedback and video analysis, among other things.

Now, it looks like the three-time All-Star centre-back – who has managed his home club and Kanturk, and was a Ballincollig coach this year – will be part of O’Connor’s management team when it’s confirmed next tuesday night.

In the book Cork Hurling: Game of My Life, O’Connor explained how he made sure Curran was nearby.

“In every dressing room I went into, I had my spot and I always had to be within two or three seats of that,” he said.
