Bhopal Sisters Arrested in Alleged Sex and Conversion Racket
Two sisters, Amreen and Afreen, have been arrested in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on charges of trafficking young women, forcing religious conversions, and running a sex racket. According to police, the sisters targeted women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, promising them domestic operate with a monthly salary of Rs 10,000, free accommodation, meals, and a seemingly affluent lifestyle.3 Once lured, the women were allegedly taken to parties and introduced to wealthy men, where they were forced into sexual relations.1
One of the survivors, a 21-year-old beautician from Chhattisgarh, alleged she was drugged and raped by Amreen’s brother, Bilal, in November 2025. She further claimed she was taken to Ahmedabad and sexually assaulted by a man named Yasir. Chandan Yadav, a close associate of the sisters, also allegedly sexually assaulted her multiple times between August 2025 and January 2026.3 The victim reported being threatened and blackmailed with compromising photos.
A second survivor, a domestic help who worked at Amreen’s house, lodged a similar complaint, alleging she was also drugged and gang-raped by Yasir, Bilal, and Chandan. She also provided video evidence to the police.3
Investigation and Arrests
Police have arrested Amreen, Afreen, and Chandan Yadav. Three other suspects – Bilal, Chanu, and Yasir – remain at large.13 During the arrests on Monday, police seized mobile phones belonging to the accused, discovering suspicious WhatsApp groups containing photographs of young women.3
The sisters had recently moved from Abbas Nagar to a luxurious villa in Sagar Royal Villas, Bhopal, a lifestyle authorities believe was funded by their illegal activities.12
