Head Coach Jonas Valfridsson’s Post-Match Analysis
Following the game, BK Häcken head coach Jonas Valfridsson shared his assessment of the team’s performance. He began by highlighting a strong first half, stating,”I think we make the first 45 minutes in a great way.I think we can access them in our press game in a good way and I think we can play ourselves out of many situations in a controlling way against a good team. So I am very pleased with the first half.”
Valfridsson acknowledged a shift in momentum after the break. “Then we get out into others and they score a goal early. We push up a little more naturally and then they get two adjustments on which they score. After 60 minutes, I think they take over the match picture quite clearly and can define the match to the finish.”
he pinpointed a drop in intensity as a key factor in the second-half performance. “I don’t think we are as intense in the second half,I think we lose some positions and then we will not come up in pressure as hard. Then I think that when we are to break through, we do not really have the power needed. We talk a lot about that that we need to develop our physical game. They come with a good pace after playing the Champions League qualification, we have to learn from it. There they are heavier than we are.”
Looking ahead, Valfridsson emphasized the importance of recovery and preparation for their upcoming match. “Now it is about trying to get as much food as possible and using all the nice new stuff we have in our premises, such as ice bath and the like, to really be recovered for Saturday. Then we have two days where we will watch this match and at Rosengård. Then it’s 90 minutes of football again. We certainly know it will be a tough match but hopefully we can bring the pace with us from this match to Derbyt.”
