Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson Credits Band’s Reunion for Oasis Reconciliation
When the Black Crowes resolved their internal conflicts and reunited in 2019, it apparently had a ripple effect, influencing the reconciliation of another famously fractured brother band – Oasis. This is according to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson.
During an appearance on Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast, in support of their album A Pound of Feathers, Robinson stated that the repaired relationship between himself and guitarist Rich Robinson paved the way for Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher to mend fences in 2025.
“Of course we did. There’s no doubt in my mind that we didn’t,” he said. “I don’t care what Noel or Liam say. They are that heavily influenced by how Rich and I’s relationship is going.” Rich Robinson, seated next to him, responded with laughter.
Robinson continued, asserting, “I would say we’re the barometer to their family dynamic. That’s just a fact,” and challenged either Gallagher brother to deny it.
A History of Brotherhood and Touring
The Black Crowes, formed in Atlanta in the 1980s, and Oasis, emerging in Manchester, England, in the early 1990s, share a touring history. In 2001, the two bands co-headlined “The Tour of Brotherly Love” across the United States and Canada, with Spacehog, another sibling-led band featuring Royston and Antony Langdon, also featured.
Rich Robinson fondly remembers the 2001 tour, describing it as “amazing” and a “great tour.”
Reunions and Recent Albums
The Robinson brothers mended their relationship in 2019, leading to the band’s reformation six years after their last performance. Rich Robinson explained at the time, “I told [a friend] ‘Man, it would just be cool to be able to play songs with my brother,’” and learned that Chris had expressed the same sentiment to another acquaintance.
Following a period of touring after the pandemic, the Black Crowes released the Grammy-nominated Happiness Bastards in 2024, produced by Jay Joyce. They subsequently returned to Nashville to record A Pound of Feathers, again with Joyce at the helm.
Oasis concluded their stadium reunion tour in November 2023, with reports suggesting the band is considering fresh music and a potential return to touring in 2027.
