BMO Toweralso known as 320 South Canal,[1]It is a skyscraper of 51 floors and 222 m (727 feet) in the West Loop neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois,[2]And is located directly south of the Chicago Union Station Railway Terminal.[3]When it was completed, it became the 24th tallest building in Chicago and the highest west of Channel Street.[4]

The building serves as the headquarters of BMO Bank, the American commercial bank subsidiary of the Bank of Montreal, and opened in the spring of 2022.[5][6]

Before construction, the land housed a parking lot owned by Amtrak. The development plans were announced in early 2019 and the construction began that same year, in December.[4]The tower designs included staggered retroyans and V -shaped structures.[3]The plans also contemplated a public park of 6000 m² and the renewal of the upper floors of the Union Station to make them a 400 -room hotel.[4]

In August 2020, the vertical construction of the structure began.[3]In April 2021, the last beam of the structure was placed in a ceremony attended by the mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot.[7]
