Body Found in Search for Missing Woman Joanne Jones

South Wales Police confirmed the find on Saturday night, stating that formal identification was still pending. Mrs. Jones’ family and the coroner have been informed. The force expressed gratitude to the local community for their invaluable assistance in the search.

They had released CCTV footage showing her walking along the street wearing a dark green coat, black rucksack, leggings, and walking boots. Police believed she had headed towards Graigwen Road and then towards Llanwonno Forest.
Mountain rescue volunteers, specialist search dogs, and drones had all been deployed in the search. Missing person flyers had also been distributed, circulating among dog walkers and hikers in the area. Members of the public had also actively participated in the search, combing through Llanwonno Forest after police issued their concern.
Chief Inspector Matt Rowlands, while emphasizing the importance of public support, had urged volunteers to exercise caution and prioritize their safety while searching, reminding them of the terrain and challenging conditions. He expressed his understanding of the distress this situation caused to Mrs. Jones’ family and friends.
