Of that 500 kilometers of traffic jam, 300 kilometers is in Brabant, a spokesperson for ANWB traffic information reports.

One of the problems is the A2, which is close to Waardenburg due to an accident with a truck and a passenger car. The road to Utrecht will remain closed for a long time for investigation into the accident.

Two hours delay

Between the Empel and Waardenburg junctions, the delay is two hours and the road is completely closed. In the other direction, between Culemborg and the Martinus Nijhoffbrug, road users must be patient for an hour.

Also press A59 and A16

It was already extra pressure in the south because the A27 is also partly closed due to work. That makes it extra stressful for the other highways in the area.

It is also very busy on the A59 near Waalwijk, just like on the A16 from Breda to Rotterdam.

Slaughter waste

Another striking traffic jam is that on the A28. There is slaughter waste on the road from Amersfoort to Zwolle at the Hattumerberg junction. Cleaning up is more difficult than expected, reports Rijkswaterstaat on X. The delay is more than an hour there.

There are also the usual traffic jams around Amsterdam, due to work.
