Brad Pitt Wraps Filming in West Cork with Action Scenes at Macroom Mart and Barryroe Co-op

Brad Pitt is nearing the completion of filming in West Cork, Ireland, with just three days of shooting remaining as of Saturday, February 21, 2026. The final scenes will involve a car chase sequence at Macroom Mart and a fight scene outside Barryroe Co-op.

A Year Immersed in Rural Life

For approximately a year, Brad Pitt has been learning the skills of farming in Kilmichael, West Cork. He received instruction in tasks such as operating a cock lifter and dosing cattle.

Silage and the “Pit”

Locals in West Cork have been playfully referring to both silage pits and Brad Pitt as “the pit” during the filming period. Pitt reportedly became particularly fascinated with round bale silage, commenting on the ingenuity of wrapping plastic around grass.

From Farming to Film

The film Pitt is working on is loosely based on the life of local farmer Denis Lehane. Lehane shared that Pitt initially approached him years ago with the idea of portraying him in a movie, having been a reader of Lehane’s contributions to “The Farm Exam,” which Pitt noted was popular in Hollywood.

Upcoming Scenes and Oscar Hopes

The car chase scene is scheduled to be filmed in the yard of Macroom Mart on Saturday. Following this, the production will move to Barryroe Co-op to film a fight scene. The film is already being tipped for Oscar glory, according to those involved in the production.

Macroom Mart Details

Macroom Mart, managed by Jer O’Sullivan, along with Daniel Power and Edwina Patterson, is a key location for the upcoming car chase scene. Cork Co-Op Marts has six sale centers throughout Munster, including Macroom.
