Bradley Basketball Freshman Montana Wheeler Enters Transfer Portal

Peoria, IL – Bradley Braves freshman guard Montana Wheeler has announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to Bradley head coach Brian Wardle. The move comes as the portal officially opens on April 7, following the NCAA Tournament championship game.

Wheeler’s Freshman Season

Wheeler appeared in all 34 games for the 21-13 Bradley Braves this season, averaging 22.4 minutes per game. He shot 42.6% from the field and 33.7% from three-point range, contributing defensively with his quickness and speed.

The 5-foot-9 guard achieved a career-high 22 points in a New Year’s Day game against Belmont, hitting 7 of 9 three-pointers – a Bradley freshman single-game record. At the season’s end, Wheeler was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Bench Team, posting 8.5 points per game and 96 assists.

Basketball Family Background
