Stephen Bradley described Sunday as a “special day” despite his side’s third consecutive loss in the Premier Division. Shamrock Rovers fell to a 2-1 defeat against Derry city at the Ryan McBride Brandywell, further delaying their title celebrations.

Marathon Run and Game Readiness

A weather-related delay to his helicopter journey – not his impressive sub-four-hour finish in the 44th Dublin Marathon – kept Bradley from arriving at the Brandywell immediately. However, he insists this had no impact on the game’s outcome.

“If you’re a manager and you’re doing preparations on the day of the game, you’re in trouble. All your work is done during the week,” he explained to RTÉ Sport.

He praised his players’ performance in the first half, stating, “I think the players were different class in the first half, and it was great to see it didn’t affect them in any way.”

Running for a Cause: oscar’s Kids

Bradley and his assistant coach, Glenn Cronin, participated in the Dublin Marathon to raise funds for Oscar’s Kids, a charity supporting children with cancer. Both men poignantly wrote the names of their children, who have both battled cancer,on their arms during the race.
