UFL leaves San Antonio After Three Years

The United Football League is departing from San Antonio after three seasons playing in the Alamodome, as announced in a statement posted on social media on Friday.

Local Alamodome and city officials express optimism about attracting spring football and other events back to the venue in the future.

The UFL is now seeking smaller venues following a review of potential markets and facilities. The Memphis Showboats and Michigan Panthers have also announced similar departures in nearly identical statements.

“Sadly, due to stadium constraints, the available venues do not align with our new vision of focusing on smaller, more intimate settings that elevate the fan experience,” the Brahmas’ statement explained. “We are deeply grateful for the incredible support of our devoted Brahmas.”

UFL representatives indicated that if a suitable venue becomes available in San antonio, they would consider returning for potential expansion in 2028.

Season ticket holders for the Brahmas will receive refunds within 7-10 business days.

City officials acknowledge the decision and remain committed to bringing spring football back to the alamodome.
