Brewers Extend Win Streak to 10, Schwarber Hits 42nd Home Run

Jose Quintana struggled against the pittsburgh Pirates, but the Milwaukee Brewers increased their winning streak to 10 with a 7-1 win Monday evening at American Family field.

The Brewers have become the 10th MLB team since 1969 to record two winning streaks of at least 10 games in one season. Thay are the first team to achieve this feat since the Houston Astros in 2019.

The other teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers (2017), the Toronto Blue Jays (2015), the atlanta Braves (2013), the St.Louis Cardinals (2001), the Pittsburgh Pirates (1978), the Kansas City Royals (1977), the New York Mets (1969), and the Astros (1969).

Since May 25,Milwaukee has risen to the top of the MLB standings,winning 49 of its last 65 games,including 25 of the last 29,following an 11-game winning streak and now a continuing 10-game streak.

Quintana earned a quality start, allowing one earned run, three hits, and striking out three batters.

Brice Turang hit the first home run of his career to lead off the game. Christian Yelich hit his 22nd home run of the season.

Schwarber Hits His 42nd home Run

Kyle Schwarber hit a two-run, 42nd home run of the season, and the Philadelphia Phillies rallied from behind, scoring four runs in the eighth inning, on their way to a 4-1 win against the Cincinnati Reds.

Schwarber’s 42nd home run allowed him to take the lead in the National League ahead of Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei ohtani, before the Dodgers-Angels game later Monday evening. ohtani later tied him by hitting his 42nd home run.Seattle mariners’ Cal Raleigh leads all of Major League Baseball with 45.

The Phillies, leaders of the National League East, extended their winning streak to four games.

Reds left-handed pitcher andrew Abbott (8-3) allowed only three hits through the first seven innings. However, he conceded productive doubles to Weston Wilson and Trea Turner in the eighth, before Schwarber connected against Tony Santillan to seal the victory.

Abbott rebounded from a rough outing on Wednesday, when he gave up four earned runs and two home runs during a 6-1 loss to the chicago Cubs. Against the Phillies, he retired the first 12 batters he faced before JT Realmuto hit a double to start the fifth inning.
