Brian Walshe Attacked in Jail Weeks Before Murder Trial
Brian Walshe, the Massachusetts man accused of dismembering his wife, was attacked in jail on Thursday, just weeks before his murder trial is set to begin.
The assault occurred inside a housing unit at a correctional center in Dedham around 10 p.m.
While the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office didn’t initially name Walshe as the victim, his lawyer, Larry Tipton, confirmed to Masslive.com that Walshe was stabbed.
Walshe received treatment at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and was returned to the jail overnight, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office to Fox News Digital.
“The other individual involved was subdued by officers, and a makeshift blunt instrument was recovered,” the statement added.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
Walshe is accused of killing and dismembering his wife, Ana, in January 2023.
His trial is scheduled for October.
