Brown Volleyball Announces Challenging 2025 Schedule, Eyes Ivy League Tournament return
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The brown University volleyball team is gearing up for a competitive 2025 season, as head coach Taylor Virtue unveiled a schedule designed to test the squad and propel them back into Ivy League tournament contention. The Bears will host seven matches at the Pizzitola Sports Center, offering fans ample prospect to witness the team’s progress.
A Rigorous Home Slate
Brown’s home campaign kicks off with a highly anticipated match against Harvard. The team will then welcome Dartmouth (October 18), Yale (October 25), Penn (October 31), Princeton (November 1), Columbia (November 14), and Cornell (November 15) to Providence. This demanding home schedule provides a crucial opportunity for the Bears to build momentum and secure key victories within the Ivy League.
Currently, the Ivy League boasts a consistently high level of volleyball play, with teams like yale and Princeton frequently ranking among the nation’s top programs. In the 2024 season, Yale finished with a 10-4 conference record, demonstrating the competitive landscape Brown will navigate. A strong home record will be vital for the bears as they strive to improve upon thier previous season’s performance.
Road to the Ivy League Tournament
The Ivy League Tournament, a single-elimination event determining the conference champion and automatic NCAA Tournament bid, will be held November 21-22. The tournament will be hosted by the team finishing atop the regular season standings. This structure emphasizes the importance of consistent performance throughout the entire season, as every match contributes to the ultimate goal of championship contention.
