Belmont Women’s Soccer Dominates Northern Iowa 4-1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont women’s soccer secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the University of Northern Iowa on Sunday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park in Missouri Valley Conference action. The Bruins showcased a strong offensive performance,scoring three goals within the first 21 minutes of the match.
Senior forward Kennedy wise,honored before the game,opened the scoring in the 5th minute,finishing a play initiated by Olivia walker. Reagan Ross extended the lead to 2-0 in the 18th minute, assisted by laken Whittington, and Whittington followed up just two minutes later, scoring off a feed from Ross to make it 3-0.

After halftime, Belmont continued to press, with defender Eliza Paisley finding the back of the net in the 55th minute, assisted by Sami Bird, to increase the advantage to 4-0. UNI’s Macy Smith scored a consolation goal for the Panthers in the 60th minute, but they were unable to overcome the Bruins’ lead.
Belmont controlled the game statistically, outshooting UNI 10-4, with a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal, and earning five corner kicks to UNI’s one. Graduate goalkeeper Sydney Jones was solid in net, recording two saves throughout the 90 minutes.

With this win, Belmont’s overall record improves to 3-3-5 and their conference record to 1-1-1. Northern Iowa falls to 3-4-3 overall and 0-1-2 in MVC play.
