Brussels Weekend Guide: Coffee Show, Diwali, and Top Exhibitions

Brussels Coffee Show and Cultural Weekends Transform the City

Brussels hosts the third Brussels Coffee Show at Tour & Taxis alongside several major cultural festivals this November. Specialty coffee, cycling advocacy, South Asian traditions, and East Asian arts anchor the weekend lineup across the Belgian capital.

The city’s autumn event calendar expands with exhibitions and neighborhood gatherings running from November through the coming months.

Specialty Coffee Championships at Tour & Taxis

The traditional home percolator takes a back seat as specialty roasters, microlots, and light roasts take over the Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis from November 6 to 8, 2026. Benjamin Brassart, an Anderlecht roaster from Boo Coffee Roasters who holds the world roasting championship title, headlines the exhibition as a VIP guest. Visitors can explore tastings, demonstrations, and barista competitions.

For the first time, organizers introduce Golden Cup awards to recognize top-tier brews evaluated across Brussels, Antwerp, Paris, and Amsterdam. Mystery experts visited 59 coffee shops three times across seven competitive categories. Beyond traditional beverages, the event features coffee-themed painting, marc sculptures, and pairings with spices and cheese. Daily tickets cost 17.90 euros, while weekend passes run 53.70 euros.

Families Gather for Illuminated Autumn Cycling Parade

Cyclists gather at the Bois de La Cambre on Saturday, November 7, 2026, for the Kidical Mass parade. The ride kicks off at 17:15 following a 16:30 gathering at the Woodpecker kiosk near the carrefour des Attelages, continuing until 18:30 with DJ sets running through 19:00. Families bring children and bicycles custom-fitted with flashing lights and high-visibility gear to claim road safety in early darkness.

This autumn parade arrives as local cycling advocates press for safer infrastructure following a recent assault on a cyclist by a driver parked on a bike lane along Rue Royale Sainte-Marie in Schaerbeek. The evening rides aim to highlight visibility and the right to safe transit during early nightfall.

Brussels Diwali Festival Marks Tenth Anniversary at Atomium

The Brussels Diwali Festival marks its tenth anniversary at the foot of the Atomium on November 7 and 8, 2026. Organizers rescheduled the event following weather cancellations caused by Storm Austen in late October. The festival of lights features traditional lamp lighting, processions, dance ceremonies, and performances of the ancient Sanskrit epic Ramayana featuring young performers on stage.

Visitors can also experience the Amazing Asia festival nearby at Tour & Taxis from November 6 to 8, 2026. The event showcases lifestyle traditions from Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Philippines, and China, featuring martial arts, cosmetics, traditional theater, calligraphy, and regional gastronomy alongside manga and gaming displays.

Seasonal Museum Exhibitions Across Brussels

Cultural venues across the city host extended exhibitions for families and art enthusiasts. The Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences presents the Animazing exhibition on animal superpowers through August 29, 2027. Rouge-Cloître hosts the children’s illustration exhibition Petits Mondes à Explorer focusing on climate and biodiversity through November 22, 2026.

The Art & History Museum displays over 250 contemporary Inuit art pieces from the Canadian Arctic in its Cinquantenaire galleries through April 18, 2027. Meanwhile, Fondation A in Forest exhibits twentieth and twenty-first-century Japanese photography in the Lost & Found collection through December 20, 2026.
