In order to prevent the spread of livestock diseases such as African Swine Fever (ASF) and highly pathogenic Avian Influenza (AI), the Busan Agricultural Cooperative Headquarters (Director Soo-cheol Lee) visited the Gangseo-gu Animal Quarantine Control Post to encourage workers and delivered 100 quarantine uniforms and encouragement items ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday on the 13th.
The inspection on this day was attended by Lee Soo-cheol, head of the Busan Agricultural Cooperative Headquarters, Kim Tae-yong, head of the Busan Livestock Agricultural Cooperative, and Joo Seong-beom, head of the agricultural department at Gangseo-gu Office.
This visit was conducted to check whether key quarantine measures such as vehicle disinfection and access control are implemented as planned to prevent livestock infectious diseases. There is also a purpose to inspect the on-site response system in conjunction with the Busan Livestock Agricultural Cooperative Joint Pest Control Team to ensure that no gaps in quarantine occur during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Director Lee said, “All officials should make efforts to prevent livestock infectious diseases from spreading through thorough quarantine even during the Lunar New Year holiday.”
Meanwhile, Nonghyup launched an all-out effort to prevent the spread of livestock infectious diseases ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. In addition to the existing disinfection vehicles, we have additionally secured drones and wide-area pest control machines and are operating a total of 1,000 units of quarantine equipment. In addition, we plan to operate two days before and after the Lunar New Year holiday as intensive disinfection days and block the influx of viruses through people and vehicle movement during the holiday period. An emergency 70 billion won interest-free fund was also allocated to support disinfection for livestock farms across the country.
