G-Shock 2500 Launch in Singapore

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. launched the analog-only G-Shock 2500 series at the Carlton Hotel in Singapore on November 7, 2026, as detikInet reported. The release deliberately rejects smart features in favor of classic timekeeping and daily practicality.

The collection spans three distinct variations built without any digital display. The GAC-2500 uses full resin for everyday flexibility, the GMC-2500 introduces metal accents for a semi-premium look, and the GMC-2500D features an all-metal bracelet, according to GadgetDIVA and selarasriau.com.

DW-5000C inspires the new visual direction

The new line draws direct inspiration from the DW-5000C released in 1983 as the original shock-resistant watch, as GadgetDIVA noted. Tokyo-based creative director YOSHIROTTEN shaped the visual campaign around the theme “Toughness, Refined,” blending digital and physical elements to project a lightweight feel alongside traditional ruggedness.

Cases feature smooth curves designed to generate dynamic reflections from various angles. The setup includes characteristic button guards and a bezel that merges octagonal and circular geometries.

Analog movement and shock-release hand structure define features

The dial layout relies on pure analog movement to ensure a natural reading experience. A small second hand featuring a “SHOCK RESIST” logo sits alongside a Multi-Mission Date window at the three o’clock position, which displays dates, stopwatch modes, and calendar settings up to the year 2099, according to GadgetDIVA and GayaTekno.id.

Casio engineered a Shock-Release Hand Structure where the minute hand uses a magnetic retention system rather than a direct mount on the axis to absorb and disperse impact energy. The watch also includes a mechanism to stop the small second hand to conserve battery life, as reported by GadgetDIVA.

G-Shock emphasizes toughness over smartwatch features

Kevin Tan, CSEA Timepiece Marketing Manager for G-Shock, explained that the series emphasizes the second hand to show how quickly time passes. “It’s positioned instantly to know how quickly time is passing and how much time is remaining,” Tan said during the Singapore press conference, reported by progresif.com.

Tomohiro Yuasa, Global Timepiece R&D Planning for G-Shock, noted that the brand chose not to compete on smartwatch features. “What we offer is not just added design and features, but ‘toughness,'” Yuasa stated, as published by progresif.com.

The G-Shock 2500 series will arrive at official G-Shock stores in Indonesia in late November 2026, as announced by GadgetDIVA and GayaTekno.id. Pricing details for the individual resin and metal variants remain unannounced.
