this Coupe de France run brings back great memories for the Drakkars de Caen. In 2000, they finished second in the Elite League and won the first modern Coupe de France, defeating Rouen 4-1! Since then, the Drakkars have played in Division 1, but this season is going well. They are currently first in their league and are still competing for the Coupe de France. They reached the semi-finals by defeating three Division 1 teams: Cholet (3-4 in a shootout), Tours (4-2), and Lyon (3-4 in overtime). they also beat Amiens from Synerglace Ligue Magnus 2-1 in extra time. Their game against the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble promises to be exciting. Grenoble is second in the Synerglace Ligue Magnus. The Grenoble team knows this competition well, having won it six times (1994, 2008, 2009, 2017, 2023, and 2024). They also gained momentum in this year’s competition, winning 10-2 against Mont-Blanc (D1) and then defeating Épinal (D1).
