Celine Dion Rocks Out to Metallica at the Las Vegas Sphere

Celine Dion was spotted riffing on an air guitar and air bass from an upper balcony suite during Metallica’s concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Nov. 5, 2026, Page Six reported.

The Grammy-winning singer attended the performance with her sons, Eddy and Nelson Angélil. Wearing a dark-colored blazer and a sleek updo, Dion pumped her fists, raised both hands in “OK” signs, and joined in on the crowd’s energy as the heavy metal band played. She posted a clip of herself fervently playing air bass along with bassist Robert Trujillo, while she watched from a suite alongside other notable musicians including Slash and members of No Doubt.

Dion’s appearance at the venue comes as Metallica concludes its fall “Life Burns Faster” residency in Sin City, which kicked off on Oct. 1. The singer has a long history with Las Vegas, having completed two major residencies at Caesars Palace's Colosseum between 2003 and 2019 that transformed the city's entertainment industry.

Her night out follows a triumphant return to the stage earlier in the fall. Dion completed a 26-show Paris residency that ran from Sept. 12 through Oct. 17, marking her first full-length live performances since stepping away from the spotlight.

The singer announced in December 2022 that she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare and progressive neurological disorder that causes debilitating muscle spasms and forced the cancellation of her planned Resorts World residency in Las Vegas. She has since documented her determination to return to performing, telling a Paris crowd last month, I promised not to cry. Tonight I want to sing for you, for me, for life.

Dion Plans Paris Residency Return

Dion’s energetic presence in the audience drew considerable attention from fans who captured her dancing in video footage from the suite. The singer previously included Metallica’s track “Until It Sleeps” on a personal playlist earlier in the year, noting that her son Eddy counts himself as a fan of the band.

Following her autumn run in France, Dion is scheduled to launch the second leg of her Paris residency in May 2027. Rumors regarding a permanent return to a Las Vegas stage persist among fans, though no official residency has been confirmed beyond her upcoming European dates.
