Cervélo Refines Caledonia for Enhanced All-Road Performance

Published March 3, 2026 09:31AM

Cervélo continues its approach of incremental improvements with the latest generation of the Caledonia, its entry-level all-road model. Although maintaining a familiar aesthetic, the latest Caledonia incorporates key updates to tire clearance, cable routing, and geometry, enhancing its versatility and ride quality.

What’s New with the Caledonia?

Cervélo has implemented numerous subtle changes to the Caledonia, preserving the bike’s overall profile while boosting its capabilities. These updates focus on enhancing the bike’s adaptability to varied terrain and simplifying maintenance.

Tire Clearance

Tire clearance has been increased from 34mm to 36mm (with a maximum of 34mm when using fenders), allowing riders to tackle more challenging surfaces without venturing into dedicated gravel riding. Cervélo notes that the geometry is optimized for 32mm tires.

Internal Cable Routing

The Caledonia now features internal cable routing through the head tube, contributing to a cleaner appearance. However, the system isn’t fully internal; cables route outside the stem, allowing for easier cockpit adjustments and compatibility with both Cervélo’s integrated cockpits and standard stems.

Geometry

The Caledonia remains available in six sizes – 48, 51, 54, 56, 58, and 61 – with geometry largely unchanged. The primary adjustment is to the fork offset, which Cervélo has refined to optimize handling with 32mm tires. The front-center of the bike has been slightly lengthened by approximately 1 millimeter across all sizes, resulting in a marginally longer wheelbase. Chainstay length remains consistent at 415mm, while standover height has increased by about 2mm. Stack and reach figures remain unchanged.

Weight Reduction

Cervélo has achieved a modest weight reduction of 53 grams compared to the previous Caledonia generation, though a total frame weight has not been disclosed.

Threaded Bottom Bracket

The new Caledonia adopts a threaded bottom bracket (T47a standard), replacing Cervélo’s previous BBright press-fit system. This change simplifies maintenance and improves long-term reliability.

Builds and Pricing

The Caledonia is offered in two colors – Nightshift (teal-blue) and Mocha (muted-gold) – and four builds, with pricing largely consistent with the previous generation, except for a $200 USD increase for the 105 Di2 model.

  • 105 Mechanical: $3,300 USD
  • 105 Di2: $4,500 USD
  • Rival AXS: $4,850 USD
  • Force AXS: $6,500 USD (includes Reserve Wheels)
