The incident took place on Friday, Aug. 8, in a resort area of Nalchik in Russia’s Kabardino-Balkaria region, according to the Russian News Agency TASS.

CCTV footage, shared on TikTok by Metro, shows a cable suddenly falling to the ground, sending chairs plummeting into a lake.

At least one person sustained a spinal cord injury, and several others suffered injuries of varying severity. Rescue operations were immediately launched, and the injured were transported to local hospitals for treatment, TASS reported.

Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse. Preliminary reports suggest a possible mechanical failure, but a thorough examination is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
