CM Punk and The Usos Clash on WWE Raw Amidst Rising Tensions with Roman Reigns

The rivalry between CM Punk and Roman Reigns intensified on the March 9th episode of WWE Raw, as Punk found himself face-to-face with The Usos following controversial remarks made the previous week. The escalating conflict centers around a personal attack by Punk on Reigns, referencing his late father, Sika.

Punk’s Controversial Remark and The Usos’ Response

During the closing moments of the previous Raw broadcast, CM Punk stated he would “bury” Roman Reigns next to his late father, Sika. This comment immediately drew criticism and set the stage for a confrontation with The Usos.

Jimmy and Jey Uso confronted Punk on the March 9th episode, demanding an apology. Although Punk initially questioned why Reigns consistently relied on his cousins, Jey clarified they had approached Punk independently. Jimmy emphasized the issue wasn’t about loyalty to Reigns, but about respect, stating that Punk had crossed a line by referencing their deceased uncle, who could no longer defend himself.

“You call yourself the voice of the voiceless. You can speak trash about Roman all you desire, but you disrespected our late uncle who has no voice,” Jimmy Uso reportedly said, according to Wrestling Attitude.

Punk’s Explanation and Subsequent Apology

Punk acknowledged Jimmy’s point but questioned whether Sika could hear the remarks. He then spoke about his history with the Anoa’i family, recalling his early career experiences with The Wild Samoans and the knowledge he gained from family members. While expressing respect for the family, Punk reiterated his issues remained with Roman Reigns.

Punk suggested that if Sika were present, he would recognize what Punk perceives as Reigns’ manipulative behavior. Jey Uso attempted to refocus the discussion on the apology itself. Punk ultimately shook Jimmy’s hand and offered a seemingly sincere apology, which Jey as well accepted.

A Qualified Apology and Physical Altercation

However, Punk’s apology was quickly followed by a pointed remark, expressing regret that Reigns had allegedly mistreated his family, including past insults directed at Dusty Rhodes. He questioned why Reigns wasn’t being held accountable and suggested a direct confrontation instead of relying on The Usos. Fightful reports that Punk stated, “I’m sorry Roman Reigns treated the two of you and the rest of his family in The Bloodline like garbage for years!”

The segment concluded with Jey Uso shoving Punk, followed by a punch from Jimmy Uso, as the show ended.

Looking Ahead to WrestleMania 42

Roman Reigns is scheduled to return to Raw next week, potentially escalating the conflict further. CM Punk is set to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Reigns at WrestleMania 42. The animosity between Punk, Reigns, and The Usos suggests a highly anticipated and potentially volatile match at WrestleMania.
