Avian Influenza Outbreak Confirmed in Côte-d’Or Department
This Wednesday, October 29, an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed in a farm with 500 poultry (guinea fowl, chickens, and ducks) in Thorey-sur-Ouche, Côte-d’Or. Authorities have implemented measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
To contain the outbreak, regulated protection zones (ZP) and surveillance zones (ZS) have been established with a 3 and 10 km radius, respectively.

Within these zones, specific requirements are in place for all locations housing poultry and captive birds. Movements of poultry and other captive birds are prohibited unless authorized by the departmental population protection directorate (DDPP).
Measures in place include:
* Strengthened biosecurity measures, including sheltering poultry.
* Increased surveillance of farms through self-checks and laboratory analyses.
* Adjustments to hunting activities, especially regarding waterfowl and feathered game decoys.
