CTAF 6th Animation Festival Celebrates Asian and Asian American Talent
Flushing Town Hall was filled with a vibrant energy on Saturday, February 21, 2026, as it hosted the 6th Animation Festival presented by Crazy Talented Asians & Friends (CTAF). The festival showcased the creative work of Asian and Asian American animators, highlighting their significant impact on the community and the broader world of animation.
A Showcase of Diverse Storytelling
The CTAF Animation Festival featured a curated selection of 12-14 animated short films and motion designs. These films, chosen from over 1800 submissions, represented a diverse range of stories and experiences within the Asian and Asian American diaspora. A panel of seasoned professionals narrowed the submissions down to 30 films for consideration.
Awards and Industry Connections
The festival included an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievement in various categories. Following the screening, a post-festival mixer provided attendees with the opportunity to connect with the artists, jurors, and professionals from the animation industry.

The 5th CTAF Animation Festival, held on December 6, 2024, featured award-winning short films and motion graphics. Student film winners included Dashan Zhou for “Express Photo,” Lin Han for “CHAIN,” Xu Hong Wong for “VOW,” Maing Caochong for “Kids in Winter,” Yu-Hsuang Teng for “Vestige,” and Jia-En Ho for “Sheep Shapes.” Tickets for the 2024 festival were priced at $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors and students, with options including a $25-$20 package for the post-screening mixer.

The 6th festival included films such as “Bride of the Wind” by Lupin Kim, “ADHDesigner” by Zepei Zhang, “Brocolopolis” by Rehan Khan and Charlotte Foster, and “Pond Kings” by Shijin Wang.
