Brazilian and Libertadores champion for Botafogo em 2024, Cuiabano was announced this Saturday (7/2) as Vasco’s reinforcement. The player arrives on loan until December with Nottingham Forest.

For the loan, Vasco will pay €1 million (R$6.2 million) to the English club and also has a purchase option set at €10 million (R$62 million).

Cuiabano had not been playing for Nottingham Forest, having only played for the under-21 team. With the Botafogo shirt, there were 77 games, ten goals and eight assists between 2024 and 2025.

Vasco da Gama agreed to sign its fifth reinforcement for the 2026 season: Cuiabano, 22 years old. The left-back arrives at Gigante da Colina on loan from Nottingham Forest (ING), until the end of this season, with a purchase option that will extend the contract until December 2030.

– What made me choose Vasco was the project presented to me. My family and I thought it well and we really enjoyed it. Continue the work. In Brazil I don’t need adaptation. I have many friends here, who played for the Brazilian youth team. I’m looking forward to making my debut, feeling the energy of the fans – said the new Vasco reinforcement.

Born in Cuiabá (MT), the full-back began his career in Grêmio’s youth teams, eventually being called up for the Brazilian under-20 team. Already in Grêmio’s professional team, Cuiabano stood out and was traded to Botafogo-RJ.

With the Rio club, he became Brazilian and Copa Libertadores champion in 2024. Afterwards, the left-back was sold to Nottingham Forest, from England.
