He culture Ministry has acquired the fashion archive and collection of the couturier for 275,238.70 euros Lorenzo Caprile composed of more than 500 pieces and 5,000 documentary collections, which will become part of the Costume Museum.
The set is made up of more than 500 pieces of clothing and accessories, as well as more than 5,000 documentary and 300 bibliographic collections, the Ministry detailed in a note this Friday.
Caprile (Madrid, 1967), known for his custom clothing work, has been a great fashion collector since the 80s, an initiative that began during his time in Italia.
In the 90s, as director of his own firm in Spainthe creator continued collecting national and international pieces, both haute couture and ready-to-wear, whose main characteristic is their great aesthetic or technical value and “his eclectic taste and interest in fashion in its most diverse manifestations.”
The largest part of the acquisition is that it has to do with clothing, made up of 452 pieces from prominent names in fashion history such as Gucci, Jeanne Lanvin, Jean Patou, Dior, Givenchy, Versace and Valentinoamong many others.
