APAC Fund Manager Data Team Lead

This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.

This is a leadership role in our fund Manager Data team. This role will oversee and manage Preqin’s Fund Manager data sets in APAC, which includes ensuring the coverage of the option assets industry is accurate, up to date and comprehensive. By delivering greater transparency in facts,this position will have a meaningful impact on the global fund market,empowering clients to make more informed decisions and fostering trust across the industry.By leading all aspects of a team of domain expertise focused on data management, this role guarantees that our data maintains accuracy and comprehensiveness.

As part of this role, you will manage a dynamic team of approximately 30 talented professionals distributed across Asian markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, sydney, and Bangalore. Your leadership will be crucial in driving team performance, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality data.

Key Responsibilities

• Team leadership & Management: provide strong leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for a team of approximately 30 data professionals across multiple locations.
• Data Quality & coverage: Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of Preqin’s Fund Manager data for the APAC region.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the APAC data strategy, aligning with overall Preqin objectives.
• Process Improvement: identify and implement process improvements to enhance data quality, efficiency, and scalability.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Product, Sales, research) to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Market Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of the APAC alternative assets landscape,including key trends,players,and regulatory changes.
• Data Governance: Ensure adherence to data governance policies and procedures.

About You

• Proven experience in a leadership role within a data-driven organization, preferably in the financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of alternative assets (private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, private debt).
• Experience managing and developing high-performing teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication,interpersonal,and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
