Ryan Reynolds Brings Back Deadpool for Sixth Annual SickKids Holiday Sweater Fundraiser

Beloved Canadian actor-producer Ryan Reynolds is back for his sixth annual heartwarming holiday season tradition: raising money for Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) through a hilarious ugly sweater campaign. This year, Reynolds sees himself once again suited up as Deadpool, joining forces with Kidpool and none other than the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter.

In the campaign’s charming video, posted on social media on Thursday, Reynolds-as-Deadpool sets out on a sleigh ride with Kidpool, declaring “Benevolence is thirsty work,” as they embark on a mission to “eliminate sick kids.” Things take a humorous turn, however, as their R-rated characters encounter a snag. Enter Lynda Carter, who, amidst a sprinkle of magic and a twist of fate, finds herself in the “ugly holiday sweater” instead of her iconic Wonder Woman attire.

Kidpool can’t resist cracking a joke, quipping, “That is one f****** ugly sweater,” while Deadpool, in his signature comedic deadpan, playfully blames the comic company’s lawyers for the costume mishap.

Since 2018, Reynolds has dedicated himself to this annual campaign, raising awareness and generous contributions for SickKids. The campaign has earned over 400 million media impressions, according to the SickKids foundation, solidifying its impactful reach.

Adding fuel to the giving spirit, Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, have pledged to match all donations up to $500,000 until December 24, 2024. This double-impact opportunity allows for even greater support for this worthy cause.

Help Ryan Reynolds and make a difference in the lives of children at SickKids this holiday season!
