DeChambeau Secures LIV Golf Singapore Victory in Dramatic Playoff
Bryson DeChambeau claimed his fourth LIV Golf title after a dramatic playoff victory over Richard T. Lee at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The American secured the win on the first extra hole despite finding water off the tee, while Lee missed a short par putt to finish runner-up.
Playoff Drama at Sentosa
Both DeChambeau and Lee finished regulation play tied at 14-under par, forcing a playoff on the par-5 18th hole. The playoff took a dramatic turn when DeChambeau’s tee shot landed in the water. Despite the setback, he managed to recover with a remarkable 300-yard three-wood shot, ultimately salvaging a par.
Lee, opting for a more conservative approach, then agonisingly missed a short par putt, handing DeChambeau the victory.
DeChambeau Reflects on the Win
“What a day, that was crazy,” DeChambeau told TNT Sports. “When I hit it in the water, the wind just took it way out of line – it was brutal. I managed to gather myself and hit a 300-yard three wood to get back in it. I had to go for it and attacked it. I feel so bad for Richard. I wanted to go and play an extra hole. Sport is brutal – you never aim for to see someone miss a putt like that.”
Lee’s Strong Performance
Richard T. Lee’s runner-up finish marks the highest achievement by a wildcard player in a LIV Golf event. He earned $2.25 million from the $20 million individual prize fund.
“It was a short putt and I wanted to just hit it hard, and I hit it a little too hard,” Lee said, according to AP News. “I suppose the adrenaline was pumping a little bit. Then again, I felt like I had it this week. I played really well. Hopefully next week I can try again.”
