Sebastian Bach Steps In to Front Twisted Sister Following Dee Snider’s Retirement

Former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach will join Twisted Sister for a series of select dates this fall, stepping in as lead vocalist following the retirement of Dee Snider due to health concerns. The announcement, made on March 3, 2026, marks a new chapter for the iconic heavy metal band.

Dee Snider’s Departure and Health Challenges

Twisted Sister announced in February that Dee Snider had resigned from the band after decades of fronting the group. Snider’s decision stems from a series of health challenges, including degenerative arthritis, high blood pressure, and heart problems. He has undergone multiple operations in recent years, but ultimately determined he could no longer maintain the physical demands of performing at the level he expects.

“I don’t know any other way to play rock. The idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather leave than be a shadow of my former self,” Snider stated, according to reports.

Snider discussed his difficult decision, explaining that doctors advised him his body was “worn out.” Despite hoping a hip replacement would alleviate his issues, further health complications led to his retirement.

Sebastian Bach’s Role and Snider’s Blessing

Twisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda announced that Sebastian Bach will front the band for a handful of select dates this fall. These performances will not interfere with Bach’s existing solo touring schedule.

Dee Snider has publicly offered his blessing to Bach, stating, “He has my blessing.” Snider had previously considered identifying a stand-in vocalist years ago, in case he was unable to perform, and had approached Bach for the role at that time.

Upcoming Performances and 50th Anniversary

The band has not yet announced a full list of concert dates, but has confirmed a performance at the Alaska State Fair on September 4. The tour coincides with Twisted Sister’s 50th anniversary.

The decision to continue touring with a new vocalist allows Twisted Sister to honor its commitments and celebrate its milestone anniversary despite Snider’s health challenges.
