Deebo Samuel Update: 49ers Receiver Discharged from Hospital
San Francisco 49ers fans received a much-needed positive update on Tuesday concerning wide receiver Deebo Samuel’s health. Following his hospital visit on Sunday due to an illness, Samuel has been discharged.
Samuel left the 49ers’ Week 7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with the illness and was later admitted to the hospital. Head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed Samuel was experiencing fluid in his lungs, confirming a diagnosis of pneumonia.
While the team is hopeful about Samuel’s recovery, they will monitor his progress closely over the coming days. The 49ers have already suffered a major blow with the season-ending knee injury to Brandon Aiyuk in the same game. The team also played Sunday’s matchup without Jauan Jennings.
Wednesday’s practice will offer the next update on Samuel’s status, as well as the conditions of Jennings and other injured Niners as they prepare for this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
