Lucknow Grapples with Dengue Surge: 56 New Cases Reported

Lucknow is facing a concerning rise in dengue cases, with 56 new patients diagnosed on Tuesday alone. These cases were identified at community health centers across various areas of the city, including Chandernagar (9 cases), Aliganj (8 cases), Indiranagar (7 cases), and Silver Jubilee (7 cases).

Other affected areas include NK Road (5 cases), Aishbagh (4 cases), Sarojininagar (4 cases), BKT (3 cases), Chinhat (3 cases), Mohanlalganj (3 cases), Gosaiganj (3 cases), and Tudiyaganj (3 cases).

Concerned by the spread, health officials conducted extensive surveys in over 1,000 homes, issuing notices to eight homeowners who were found to have mosquito breeding grounds on their property. To combat the mosquito population, anti-larvae chemicals were sprayed in prominent areas of the city, including Kakori, Kaiserbagh, and Jankipuram.

Dengue Prevention: A Collective Effort

With the dengue situation growing increasingly serious in Lucknow, it is imperative that citizens prioritize preventive measures to avoid infection. This includes:

  • Regularly cleaning and clearing stagnant water sources around homes and neighborhoods.
  • Using mosquito nets while sleeping.
  • Wearing clothing that covers exposed skin.
  • Applying mosquito repellent regularly.

By working together, residents can help combat the spread of dengue and create a healthier environment for all.
