Derrick Henry Continues Historic Run, Surpasses Barry Sanders Milestone
Derrick Henry’s dominance continued on Sunday, leading the Baltimore Ravens to a resounding 41-10 victory over the Denver Broncos. Henry’s impressive performance saw him rack up 106 rushing yards and score two touchdowns, cementing his place in NFL history.
A Milestone Performance
Henry’s touchdowns marked a significant achievement, making him the fourth player since 1990 to score in each of his team’s first nine games of a season. His 101 career rushing touchdowns propelled him past legendary running backs Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, and Shaun Alexander, securing eighth place on the NFL’s all-time list.
“God has been tremendously good to me, and I’m thankful,” Henry expressed, via the team’s website. “Credit to everybody who’s been a part of my career [and] to help me get to this milestone. Barry Sanders is like a running back superhero, so that’s very cool. I don’t take it for granted.”
1,000-Yard Milestone Reached
Adding to his impressive day, Henry surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the season, becoming the first Ravens running back to achieve this feat since Mark Ingram in 2019. Despite these accolades, Henry remained focused on improvement.
“For me to have the day that I had, I give the credit to everybody blocking,” Henry stated. “I’m not happy with how I played, and I need to do better this next game. Any success I have, give the credit to them. To me, I’m not too happy about the game.”
Henry’s unwavering dedication to excellence is evident in his relentless pursuit of improvement, setting a high standard for himself and inspiring his teammates.
