Suns Forward Dillon Brooks Arrested on Suspicion of DUI
Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona, early Friday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence. The arrest occurred hours after the Suns lost to the Chicago Bulls.
Details of the Arrest
According to police reports, officers conducted a traffic stop around 1 a.m. Local time. Following an investigation, Brooks was arrested and taken to jail, being released around 3:30 a.m. After the booking process ESPN, USA Today.
A source close to Brooks told ESPN’s Shams Charania that the DUI arrest was marijuana-related, and Brooks passed a breathalyzer test ESPN. Bodycam footage obtained by TMZ showed an officer stating the vehicle smelled like marijuana Yahoo Sports.

Brooks’ Current Status and Season Performance
Brooks, 30, is currently sidelined with a fractured left hand sustained in a February 21st win against the Orlando Magic. He is expected to return near the end of the regular season ESPN, USA Today.
Prior to his injury, Brooks was averaging 20.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and one steal in 50 games this season. This represents an increase of 6.9 points per game compared to his previous season ESPN, USA Today.
Brooks joined the Suns as part of a seven-team trade in July 2025 that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets USA Today.
As of March 5, the Suns hold a 35-27 record and are seventh in the Western Conference, two games behind the sixth-seeded Los Angeles Lakers USA Today.
