Chip Ganassi Racing Locks in Trio for 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES

Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) has announced its driver lineup for the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES, confirming the continuation of established talent with champion racers Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, and rising star Kyffin Simpson.

Returning Champions

Reigning and three-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou will once again take the helm of the No. 10 DHL Honda. Six-time champion and 2008 Indianapolis 500 winner Scott Dixon will pilot the No. 9 PNC Bank Honda. This formidable duo continues to bring a wealth of experience and racing prowess to CGR.

Palou Sets Suit for Back-to-Back Championship Glory

Palou’s 2024 season was one for the history books: He secured his third INDYCAR SERIES championship in four years, marking another milestone in this championship-hungry driver’s career. He joins an elite group of drivers, becoming the first back-to-back champion since Dario Franchitti from 2009-11. Now, Palou sets his sights on a historic three-peat, echoing Franchitti’s remarkable achievement.

“2024 was another amazing season in the books,” Palou said. “The work doesn’t stop, and I can’t wait to be back on track with more hunger than ever in 2025.”

Dixon on the Hunt for Motorsport Records

Dixon’s performance in 2024 saw him achieve significant milestones. His two wins in the year brought him closer to A.J. Foyt’s record of 67 victories, with only nine victories separating them. Dixon’s remarkable consistency continues: He has won at least one race in 20 consecutive years and 22 out of his 24 seasons. The year also saw him capture his 142nd career podium finish, securing the record for most podiums in the INDYCAR SERIES. Dixon also reached the milestone of 400 career starts, joining an exclusive group of motorsport legends.

“I’m excited,” said Dixon. “I’m ready to get going. I wish there wasn’t such a long offseason.

“We had lots of great races last year. It didn’t end the way that we would’ve liked with some DNFs and some poor results here and there, but the team did a great job with great speed. I’m looking forward to the season and obviously going for championship number seven.”

Simpson Continues to Climb the IndyCar Ladder

Kyffin Simpson (photo, left) will be entering his second season in the series. In his rookie year, the 19-year-old gained valuable experience and demonstrated his potential, leading laps during the prestigious 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.

“I am very excited to continue with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2025,” Simpson said. “I look forward to building on a strong start to my INDYCAR career and I can’t wait to see what our team can achieve together.”

The Future is Bright for CGR

CGR also took a significant step forward this month by announcing a technical alliance with Meyer Shank Racing starting in 2025. This collaboration promises to elevate the team’s performance on the track and strengthens their position in the competitive IndyCar landscape.

2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Kickoff

The 2025 season is set to ignite on March 2nd with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding, offering live coverage on FOX and the INDYCAR Radio Network.
