On the occasion, the country will fulfill a wide agenda of diplomatic, cultural and economic promotion activities that will highlight their identity, potential and international projection in one of the most important global forums of the year.
The Official Delegation will be headed by the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Bución, the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, and the Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry, Hugo Francisco Rivera.
In addition, the vartitular of the Ministry of Culture, Amaury Sánchez; the executive director of the Promotion and Investment Center (Prodominicana, Biviana Riveiro; and the Dominican ambassador to Japan, Edward Pérez Reyes.
During the Dominican National Day, a flag -raising lift ceremony, institutional speeches, cultural presentations, visits to the pavilion will take place, and a sample of folklore and national music will be presented with the participation of the Dominican ballet in Europe (BDE) and Josean Jacobo and its orchestra.
As part of the celebration, a colorful carnival parade is expected in the iconic Great Ring, taking the joy and richness of Dominican traditions to the Japanese public.
Prior to the National Day, the delegation will participate in other activities separately in the city of Tokyo organized by Prodominicana and the Ministry of Tourism.
The Minister Beicho and part of the official mission will also support bilateral meetings with Japanese authorities and leaders of the economic, commercial and innovation sector, in order to strengthen the cooperation agenda in strategic areas such as investment, tourism and sustainable development.
Since the opening of the Expo, the Quisqueya pavilion has received more than one million visitors, who have been able to enjoy a proposal that pays tribute to baseball as a symbol of shared identity, highlighting Dominican players in Japanese teams such as the Hanshin Tigers (Osaka) and the Hiroshima Toyo Carp.
The space also shows the most emblematic products of the country such as chocolate, coffee, cigarettes, rum, amber, lamp and fragrances.
The participation of this country coincides with the commemoration of more than nine decades of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Dominican Republic, marked by cooperation, friendship and mutual respect.
