Donoughmore Win Dramatic Junior A Football final Replay

The Ross Oil Muskerry Junior A Football Championship title is heading to Donoughmore after a thrilling final replay win against Aghinagh. It was a dramatic finish!

This is Donoughmore’s first Mid Cork football crown since 2011.

Trailing by six points with just three minutes left,they looked defeated. But two quick fisted goals from Sean O’Hanlon and a point by gavin O’Sullivan sparked wild celebrations.

Donoughmore started strong, leading 0-4 to 0-1 after five minutes with scores from Scott Barrett, Declan Keating, and a goal by Gavin O’Sullivan.

Aghinagh responded, with Con Buckley and Liam Twohig shining in attack.

Aghinagh then scored a goal. Twohig finished beautifully,putting his side ahead 1-8 to 0-4 after 23 minutes. Donoughmore rallied before halftime, with points from Keating and O’Sullivan reducing the deficit to four, leaving the halftime score at 1-9 to 0-8.

Early second-half scores from Twohig and Buckley extended Aghinagh’s lead. But Donoughmore found momentum again, with O’Sullivan, Keating, and Kevin O’Connell all scoring. The score became 1-12 to 0-12 in favor of Aghinagh.
