Dorka Dancsok Makes History, Qualifies for NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) swimmer Dorka Dancsok is set to compete in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, beginning Wednesday in Evansville, Indiana. This marks a significant milestone for the Nanooks swimming program, as Dancsok is the first UAF athlete to qualify for the championships since Charlotte Fletcher-Stables in 2023-24 .

Championship Schedule

Dancsok will participate in four events across four days of competition at the Deaconess Aquatic Center:

  • Wednesday, March 11: 200-Yard IM – Prelims at 7 a.m. AKT, Finals at 2:30 p.m. AKST
  • Thursday, March 12: 400-Yard IM – Prelims at 7 a.m. AKT, Finals at 2:30 p.m. AKST
  • Friday, March 13: 100-Yard Breaststroke – Prelims at 7 a.m. AKT, Finals at 2:30 p.m. AKST
  • Saturday, March 14: 200-Yard Breaststroke – Prelims at 7 a.m. AKT, Finals at 2:30 p.m. AKST

Record-Breaking Season

Dancsok qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 4 minutes and 23.31 seconds in the 400-yard individual medley, setting a new program record at the 2026 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference (PCSC) Championships . She will also compete in the 200-yard IM, 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard breaststroke, earning NCAA B Cuts in each event.

PCSC Championships Performance

At the PCSC Championships, the junior from Budapest, Hungary, secured three podium finishes, including a gold medal in the 400-yard IM. She also placed third in both the 200-yard IM and the 200-yard breaststroke . Dancsok posted personal bests in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.02) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.42) during the meet.

Team Success

The Nanooks concluded the PCSC Championships in fifth place, tying their best conference finish in the past 12 years . The team recorded five medals, four NCAA B Cuts, and three record-breaking swims.

Rankings and Points

Dancsok led the team with 683.40 points during the 2025-26 season and ranked fourth in the PCSC. Among qualified swimmers at the NCAA Championships, she ranks 27th in the 200-yard IM (2:04.02), 34th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.96), and 36th in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.81) .

Acting head coach Logan Indest expressed his excitement about Dancsok’s qualification: “It’s great to have the Nanooks back at NCAA Champs. Dorka has been putting in a tremendous amount of work all three seasons she’s been at UAF. It’s great to see that work be rewarded and I am excited to see her perform on the biggest stage.”
