ELON – The Elon University men’s soccer team (5-0-1) capped off a perfect three-game homestand Tuesday night with a 2-0 victory over Davidson (2-3-1) at Rudd Field.
The unbeaten phoenix scored both its goals in the first half, with Martin Kozak and Oscar Tonidandel both finding the back of the net.
Kozak opened the scoring in the 24th minute, heading home a cross from Ben Seigel for his second goal of the season. Tonidandel doubled the lead in the 38th minute, firing a shot into the upper 90 off a feed from Kozak.
Elon’s defense held strong throughout the match,limiting Davidson to just four shots on goal.Goalkeeper Cameron Collins made four saves to earn the clean sheet.
The Phoenix will hit the road next to face William & Mary on Saturday, September 20th, at 7:00 P.M.
