Former Employees Accuse Irish Engineering Firm of Dodging Wage Payments

Two former employees of Randridge International Ltd, an Irish engineering firm, have filed claims with the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), alleging the company has failed to pay them their wages, redundancy entitlements, and additional compensation.

“Playing a Financial Game” Alleged

Francis Declan Radmall, a former employee from Johannesburg, South Africa, claims he is owed over €25,000 in unpaid wages and redundancy pay. He alleges the company is engaging in a deliberate attempt to avoid payment, citing misleading letters and a lack of payslips.

Mr. Radmall told the WRC, “Honestly, I find that unacceptable, because Randridge are just playing a game, another financial game.” He further asserted, “The organization is treating not only me but their suppliers and other individuals exactly the same, hoping to get away with not paying people in accordance with their contract.”

Company’s Response

The company’s representative, Roberta Urbon of Peninsula, maintains that “the majority” of what Mr. Radmall claims has already been paid. She disputed his claims of unpaid salary for June and July, stating that partial payments had been made. However, Mr. Radmall insists he lacks proof of these payments and has not received any payslips.

Another Employee Seeks Unpaid Wages and Notice Pay

Another former employee, Alison Tynan, withdrew her claim for statutory redundancy but continues to seek six weeks’ notice pay, two weeks’ wages, and three days in lieu of accrued annual leave. She claims to have been given payslips for the outstanding amounts but received no money.

The adjudicating officer, Breiffni O’Neill, requested further details regarding the outstanding payments and adjourned the case, directing Randridge to provide Mr. Radmall with the necessary documentation, including payslips.

Unanswered Questions and Ongoing Concerns

The case highlights serious concerns about Randridge International Ltd’s financial practices and its treatment of its employees and suppliers. The long wait for a final decision and the possibility of further litigation leaves a lingering sense of uncertainty and underlines the urgent need for transparency and accountability.

The situation raises questions about the company’s ability to meet its financial obligations and whether it intends to resolve these outstanding claims fairly and promptly.
