Elsie Booth wins gold in women’s individual all-around gymnastics final

Elsie Booth has won gold in the women’s individual all-around gymnastics final at the Brentwood Centre,delivering a stunning performance to claim victory.

The 16-year-old, who was competing in her first major international competition, topped the leaderboard with a total score of 55.233.

Booth’s victory was hailed as a breakthrough moment for British gymnastics, with many praising her composure and skill. She received a standing ovation from the crowd after her final routine on the floor.

“It’s absolutely astounding, I’m so happy,” Booth said after her win. “I just went out there and tried to do my best, and it paid off.”

American Katelyn Rosen scored 54.633 to take silver, while Canada’s Aurelia Lambert secured bronze with 54.366.

“Today is the first time I’ve seen him in person, so it’s very exciting.”
